Geometry Lab Software Request form Explained

Org. Type

This field is for describing your organization type. (Ex: University, Government, Industry, etc.)

Proposed Application

Please use this text area to tell us how you are going to use the CSCMDO software (Project, geometry, etc.). Please list here any government contracts if applicable. Remember you are only allowed 500 characters in your explanation, so be complete, but be brief.

HostID

The hostID is the unique identifier for the UNIX host on which you wish to execute the CSCMDO software. We will use this in generating a "license key" which will allow you to execute the requested CSCMDO software on that host ONLY. You can obtain the hostID of your platform using the following command at the UNIX prompt :

% hostid<cr>

This will produce a hexidecimal number to input into this field and identifies prospective host on which you will execute CSCMDO. Please enter only one hostID with the initial request of the CSCMDO. Additional "license keys" may be obtained at a later date by following the instructions presented when attempting to execute the CSCMDO software on the non-licensed host.

OS Revision

Enter the Operating System Revision for the platform on which you wish to run CSCMDO (Ex. IRIX 5.3, SunOS 4.1.4). On UNIX systems, you can obtain the OS release with the following command :

% uname -rs<cr>

HostName

The hostName is the name of the UNIX host on which you wish to execute the CSCMDO software. We will use this in generating a "license key" which will allow you to execute the requested CSCMDO software on that host ONLY. You can obtain the hostName of your platform using the following command at the UNIX prompt :

% hostname<cr>

Please enter only one hostName with the initial request of the CSCMDO. Additional "license keys" may be obtained at a later date by following the instructions presented when attempting to execute the CSCMDO software on the non-licensed host.
