X-15
This is the infamous X-15. Originally the surface definition
was created by scanning an 18 inch model using the Geometry Lab's 3D
laser digitizer. Later, a more accurate definition was re-created from
engineering drawings from North American Aviation Inc.
dated back to 1956.
